Hi Guys!

So the big day is almost here. I'm supposed to go on a light diet on Monday and was wondering what you guys suggest for that? I'm not exactly sure what that means or what it consists of.

Also, I have to be on just a liquid diet on Tuesday and wondering what's good for that as well.

I got the clear liquid diet down after having all those darn colonoscopies.

Surgery is Thursday! Getting nervous...

Thank you!
Take care!

In our hospital, a light diet consists of things like:

Processed cereals like rice bubbles and corn flakes.

Steamed, lean meat like chicken and fish. Accompany with boiled or steamed *root* vegetables.

White rice. Semolina.

Boiled or poached eggs.

White bread / toast with spreads that are allowable under a low residue diet.

Plain biscuits / cookies. Scones or pikelets made with white flour.

Jelly / jello. Custard. Rice pudding made with white rice. Stewed apples or pears.

No big meals - smallish quantities only. Probably better to eat four or five small meals a day if you think you'll get hungry, instead of three larger meals.

I hope this helps.

Ivy.
