Saw the Pa today at the gastro dr for a followup. Two months ago was still having major issues with inflammation and spasms and Diarhhea. I was trying to wean down the entocort and it did not quite work. We are going to start weaning down again tomorrow. She says if they can't get me weaned off they are going to start me on Imuran. I was concerned because I had heard about issues with pancreatitis. She told me that if they put me on it I will get regular blood work to monitor. I am also having blood work next week prior to us making any decision to make sure I can take it. I don't know if I love that idea but i am really ready to wean this entocort. It has not had any side effects on me but I am worried about long term. I told her I have felt great the last few months. Some cramping and off and on diarrhea but nowhere near like it was. I get to the gym 5 days a week now and everyone has noticed I am feeling better just in the way I act. I didn't realize i was that pitiful!! LOL! My last batch of blood work to check iron came back really well too. Apparently I am no longer anemic but I have to stay on the iron for a few more months. I never realized but apparently my iron level was 9 back in may. This next round they want me to have C-reactive protein to see if there is active inflammation and a full CBC. So everything looks good so far. I also heard my dr was coming back in a few weeks (he had a stroke back in May) so that was very good news. It is hard to find good doctors as have been evidenced by some of the posts I have read and I feel like I hit the jackpot with this dr and his entire office staff.
