My husband and I have been married for a little over a year now and would like children down the road but we are not currently trying to get pregnant.
Within the last week i have had a bunch of syptoms that have made me wonder what is going on with my body. I have been extreemly sensitive to smells to the point where I need to walk out of the room, and have been very neauseated throughout the day. I also just started getting some dizzy spells. Ontop of this I have had 2 dreams about being pregnant. I took a test but it came out negative. Could it have been too early to be accurate? Could I be psyching myself out? Could these be some weird Crohns related syptoms?
I have not missed a period yet. I just want to be very careful about my meds and choices if I am pregnant. Anyone have some words of wisdome for me or should I just play the waiting game?
Thanks! smilewinkgrin

I think you always could be pregnant if you're having unprotected sex. Maybe you should retest with an early pregnancy test a little closer to your period. It's also possible that you're having the dreams because you really want to be pregnant.

Hope you get good news!!

Most HPT's (home pregnancy tests) are only accurate about 6 days before your missed period, and in some cases (like me) never showed positive until I had a blood test. Do you know when you ovulated? When is your period due?

It could also be in the mind and/or CD related. Lately I've had a lot of pregnancy type symptoms (nausea, smell, breast tenderness, dizziness) but I'm not pregnant. My dr's believe it's a combination of CD and pms. Because you can get pregnancy symptoms right before your period when hormones start to go haywire. I never had the pms issue until the last few months so it can all the sudden start out of no where.

Good luck and keep us updated!

I am currently on the pill but I know there is always a likely hood of it not working (or it not being taken at the right time, etc.). We do not use a back up. I wouldnt mind the fact of being pregnant but I am right in the middle of getting my career started.
No breast tenderness yet.
I think I'll just wait it out and see. I just hope this isnt the start of my first flair since remision.
Thanks forr the advice! :)

Let me refrase that....I would LOVE to be pregnant. I love children....I'm a teacher, But I know my husband isnt feeling ready. Plus I think I'm trying not to get excited only to be let down if I'm not. What is ment to be will be. Whatever the outcome we will expand our family at some point.

I had 4 negative urine tests when I was pregnant with my second child. I finally went to the doc and found out I as just over 12 weeks along. I was 19 weeks along when I found out I was pregnant with my first one but I was less than 2 weeks late. I had periods during the first half of each pregnancy and only very subtle symptoms, nothing to make me think I was pregnant. I was very careful with birth control so I wasn't expecting either one.

The only reason I even took the tests with the second one was because I kept having dreams that I was pregnant. I was worried because I was on meds that weren't supposed to be taken during pregnancy. I went to the doc and due to my history with my first pregnancy, they immediately did an ultrasound and there he was.

This is my long winded way of saying I don't trust the home tests.

I used to get all the symptoms of pregnancy right before I started my period. I even got the breast tenderness and swore I was pregnant and it was always just my period coming along with having Crohns. I think being on the pill you are fairly safe. Hugs!

Pregnant ,,hmmmm, Merj , you do know what causes that ,,,right ? Just kidding . As for your husband not feeling ready, most men aren't ,,until they see that little smile and hold their child for the first time and then they take a good look at their life and know that its time to be ready ...

I think when the time comes he will be ready. He will be a wonderful father....

Still feeling sick and light headed today... Waiting it out for a few more weeks to see if it goes away.

OMG! I totally had the SAME symptoms last month! I thought I was pregnant, so I took a test...negative.

I had dizziness, fatigue, sensitivity to smells (I actually threw out an entire batch of newly baked sugar cookies b/c the smell made me nauseated!), and I was even throwing up in the morning!  I called my dr. after the test was negative b/c I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going crazy.  It ended up that my medication was "too much" for me, so he took me off of it and we're starting over at a lower doseage. So make sure you see your dr. either way to make sure it isn't anything else.
