Hi all,

Apologies but this will get gross.

So I was lying on my stomach in bed this morning, and I passed gas. Unfortunately it was wet. Oh no...

Managed to get to the bathroom, miraculously not making a mess on the way, and discovered that it wasn't D as I'd thought, but a whole lot of mucus. Huh?

I've had "BMs" before that were just mucus, or that included mucus, but they've always been just a little bit of mucus at a time. This was at least 10 times what I'd normally see. Has anyone had this?

I'm wondering if it's just a Crohn's thing - my guts have been acting up more than usual the past week or so, but I'm mildly concerned it could be the antibiotics I started taking last night (Bactrim). The fact sheet that came with the meds is kind of laughable as says one possible side effect to watch out for is blood/mucus in the stool, but I've had that for years.

I've had some gross urgency or "wet gas" issues in past, but I think this morning's episode is one of my top 5... lol.

My thoughts is that it could be the antibiotics. I know whenever I have to take them my symptoms get even worse. Hugs!

In the last eight months, I too have had episodes like you described. Sometimes they will go 8-10x a day where it will be just mucus. And I also have had moments of not making it.. I am so sorry.. I wish I understood more about crohn's.. I am still kinda new to this and have no idea where this stems from or what makes this particular symptom flare.

just offering hugs.
