I may be to the point of choosing to go to Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic. I originally thought I'd go to Mayo in Jacksonville but then my GI's nurse told me that she thought Cleveland Clinic was better. She said that it is more difficult to get in but that it was excellent once you're in. Just wondering if anyone had any input.

Cleveland is very efficient and organized. It was easy to get a call back from my doc which shocked me because of its size and his caseload. When waiting for surgery it took a month and no call back, so at my next local GI appointment my GI called someone at Cleveland when I was in the room with him and I was having surgery 2 weeks later. He must have some pull. Good luck

My employer (who is self-insured) hires an independent research company to tell us where the best results are being had for each chronic illness and yes, when they looked up Crohn's just last week, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester came back as #1. I've heard nothing but good things about the Cleveland Clinic also so I would guess either is going to provide good care.

I am in the same boat and contemplating going to the Mayo as my local GI doctor is just not a Crohn's expert and I am losing faith that he can get me to a manageable state with this awful disease.

Good luck.

Crohn's for 15 years, dx'd correctly Feb 2010, have fistulas. Bad neurological reaction to Remicade, started Humira August 2010. Have had horrible abdominal pain since & lost over half my hair and GAINED 15 lbs.! Humira isn't working, fistulas aren't healing!
