I am so bummed I can't eat them anymore.  After this kidney surgery, my digestion has been all messed up.  Safe foods are no longer safe etc.
But eggs were an always go to food that was easily digestible for me, but not anymore.  What is in eggs that make them hard to digest?

Thanks!

I have no idea nanners. Sometimes I can eat them and sometimes I can't. If I eat them occasionally on a good day, I probably won't have a problem, but definitely not regularly.
I read that the protein (especially in the whites) is hard to digest for some people and also some eggs have more dead bad bacteria than others, that can still cause a problem. I can't even eat them regularly with digestive enzymes. Every time someone here says they eat eggs during a flare, I'm so jealous. I miss dipping my toast in the warm liquid yolk.

Roni beat me to it Gail. I was also going to suggest the protein. But, having said that, even though I have a problem
with my kidneys the odd egg doesn't seem to affect me. Take care!!

Yes I can eat eggs, but they can be a bit indigestible, especially if I team them up with other proteins such as bacon or sausages. But as long as I apply a bit of common sense and don't eat more than 2 eggs at a time I'm okay with them.

I have struggled with eggs but have not payed attention to them (instead of limiting them or even eliminating them). Sorry they are no longer OK with you. I really hate it when safe foods turn on you.
And thanks for your post and Nice cup a as from now on I will 1) pay more attention and 2) start with Nice cup a's sensible thoughts.
Take care

Was on Kapidex, and Pentasa, multi Vit, Vit D. Started on Predisone and my legs started paining with loss of control. Doc stopped all meds until I can figure out what is happening with my legs. Off meds for 4 weeks. Back on 20 MGs of Pred. Starting to see Neurologist for legs as GI does not really know what is happening.

Bummer!  Eggs are a great go to food for me.  Could it be the protien that isn't digesting correctly?  Funny story...when I was preg with both my kids and was so sick to my tummy it was eggs that I could eat.  My doctor couldn't get over it he said.

Nope, can't eat eggs as in eggs eggs. I can eat eggs in things - like cakes, bread, etc. They seem so harmless, but they're like little diarrhea bombs!

I am so sorry eggs have turned on you nanners ;( 'When Good Foods Go Bad' sounds like a really awful reality TV show!

Maybe softly scrambled with 2 yokes to one white?

Like the others I think it is the white which is so hard to digest

I do okay with eating things that have eggs in it, just not scrambled or fried eggs anymore. Such a bummer as its always been one of my comfort foods. Maybe things will quiet down, and I can try them again at another time. Oh well!

I was wondering the if it was the opposite. If it was the fat in the yolks. You might want to try an experiment. Try two whites with one yolk one day, then flip it and try two yolks with one white the next and see if it makes any difference. Then you could even go further and see if just whites is OK.

Eggs are one of my safe foods so I'm not sure what I would do if they were no longer safe. Not only safe, but one of my favorites.

have you tried organic and cage free eggs? It might help.  I can't eat eggs either, major D when I do anymore.  At one point in my life I could, but no longer:( sure miss them.  Perhaps we have developed allergies to them for eating too many? I've heard that can happen with things especially shrimp.  Don't know but I've tried just egg whites and that didn't go well either.  But maybe a fresher egg will work for you, hope it does.

I just had a food allergy test done because I was wondering about this. I'm not allergic to eggs, but I still can't eat them all the time.

It's the salmonella in the eggs that's the problem :)

Just Joking! Not sure what the problem is in eggs. Some weight loss website just said that egg whites are hard to digest, so you burn more calories with egg whites than yolks...for what it's worth.
