The old post that was brought got me to thinking. I have a saliva problem as well. I've had this problem since I was a senior in High School (almost 5 yrs) Nobody thought much of it. It made me sick and nauseous and it would sometimes make me skip work and my pcp couldn't figure out why. It would always get worse in the shower or shortly after and I'd throw up and then throw up for the rest of the day. It seems to have ups and downs and I haven't found out the pattern yet. When I was pregnant the first time it got really bad and I ended up seeing an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) dr. He looked and said the 2 mucous glands at the back of the throat were enlarged and hence creating more saliva than normal. He said they could do a simple surgery and take one of them out and the other would be creating enough for 2 glands. I've been seriously considering this for over a year now but I've never brought it up to my GI to get his thoughts.

I've also had a constant stuffy nose because everything gets clogged up from it. It's super duper annoying when you have to keep a 'gag' cup close by. I use to be able to drink a can of sprite and the carbonation seemed to break it up for a little bit, but that quit working after a year. I've even thought it could be some type of allergy, but the ENT didn't think so. I tried all sorts of antihistamines with no success. I don't tolerate benadryl and sudafed doesn't do much.

So I thought I'd give my insights into it and maybe it would help some of you :)

Its normal to produce more saliva when your going to throw up or just after but your way passed that.Do you think the eye ear nose and throat doctor may be able to help without removing anything. Maybe there is a med that could help. Heck, most of the meds I take cause dry mouth as a side effect , there has to be something .
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
