Today I'm starting on Humira and I'm in pain from wounds from previous fistula surgery and my stomach is killing me the doc says after I start the Humira it should go away. But how long does the Humira take to take effect?

I heard anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. But it can start earlier. I haven't been on Humira yet (start this week) so I hope it is immediate :)

Hope u feel better soon

Started 75mg Imuran shortly after DX (+ vits) & still on it today(now 150mg), then I was in remission for almost 12 years!

NOW: ....in a flare-up, tapering pred. (at 40mg now) and about to begin Humira... if approved

Hi, I have heard that you will start to see improvement within a couple of weeks and will know in a month if it will work for you. I am suppose to start Humira this week too but want to take myself, hubby, and kids for the flu shot first so I probably won't be able to start till next week. I hope you feel better soon, let us know how you do.

I have tried almost every medication for it but nothing worked or I had a bad side effect so for the last 6 years have been on xanax 1mg., 3x's a day

It depends on the person, but usually within a month.  The first time I was on it, I could tell a difference within a few weeks.  The second time I tried it, it took 7 weeks.  My rheumy didn't think it was going to do anything since it took that long...she said most people see results by then, so she was afraid it wasn't working.  She said most people see improvements up until week 12 and then it levels off.  Best of luck!  I hope it works well and quickly!

Hi, Did you start the Humira yet? If so, how are you feeling? Do you have the pen injecstions or the syringe? Were the injections painful as I heard they were? Sorry for all the questions but as I mentioned above I will be starting this week or the next so trying to find out what to excpect. I hope the pain in your stomach is feeling a little better and you will start feeling better soon.
