For the last month, I've had a few off days where I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach. It's generally right where most of my inflammation is (LRQ), but sometimes in my RUQ. I do have inflammation all through my small intestine...When this occurs, I can feel a hard mass where the pain in, usually about 4 cm or a little larger. I almost always have a fever, but on these days, it's higher. The pain usually only lasts for a day, maybe two. I've had about 5 of these episodes within the last month.

Anybody have any idea what might be going on? I go to my doctor on Monday, and I'm going to tell him about them too and see what he thinks.

Thanks! :)

Sounds like you are having a significant flare. Good thing you're seeing the doctor Monday. You might ask when you see him what symptoms should cause you to call him between appts. Cause I would have told you to call ASAP with those symptoms. Higher fevers, mass and pain could be an abscess which could cause a rupture. That would be really bad.

You might want to try exclusive enteral nutrition (liquid formula only). It may give you a lot of relief in just a few days. But it works best if you don't take anything else by mouth except water, suck on hard candies, maybe a little 7up.

Hope you get feeling better soon.

It could also be a partial blockage. I had one a couple of weeks ago from a handful of popcorn that I couldn't resist on family movie night. I spent the next day in bed in severe pain. Do you remember if you may have had something high in fiber that day or the day before it happens?

Note to self: I will never eat popcorn again!
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.

Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, Glucosamine, D3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

I thought about it being a partial blockage as well. I had sushi the night before the last one...but that really isn't high fiber. My father brought up the idea of it being an abscess. I've been meaning to go on a liquid diet, so I'll probably start tomorrow.

I have been going through a pretty bad flare lately.

Grayeyedblonde- there's a video about Crohn's disease- a funny one- where a cartoon doctor is singing to a patient and one of the lines is "Don't eat popcorn, no seriously, it'll put you in the E.R." It's so true.
