The nurse called me today, my colonoscopy was on the 5th where the Dr said there was much inflammation and scarring especially by the ilium. She basically said "it sounds like you have Crohn's" so I was a little frustrated. That is what the Dr told me the day of the procedure! Isn't there anything else you can tell me from this biopsy?

But I guess it's good news that nothing else was found? I'm supposed to stay on my Entocort until my next appointment which is in February.

I'm eating a cookie because I feel a little bit down.

Sorry to hear that you are feeling down.
I believe that the 'visual' during the colonoscopy gave an indication of Crohns but the biopsy confirmed it(although I am uncertain what they look for in the sample taken)
I think that yes it was good news that nothing else was found(really worried when wating for ds's results)
Hope the Entocort works

I'd personally call your doctor's office and ask to speak to the doctor. "It sounds like you have Crohn's" is different than "biopsy result confirm Crohn's" and I would want to hear a definitive. I'd also want to know how bad they consider the disease...mild, moderate, or severe.

Do you have a follow up appointment with the doctor?

Can the biopsy confirm Crohn's? I kept asking the nurse and she 'couldn't say - I had to speak with the Dr' and then the Dr couldn't come to the phone and just wanted to see me in 4 weeks. I'm seeing him on Valentine's Day. not sure I will stay with him, he seems a little annoying.

I was feeling down on Friday, thanks for the nice words both of you!

Yes, the biopsy can absolutely confirm Crohn's. It can also tell you how bad the Crohn's is.
