Is it pretty common to wake up with horrible stomach pain? It's not really cramps, it's almost like a sour stomach with tinges of sharp pains. I wonder if it's something I eat at times or what is going on. Is this common with a flare? I have never flared so bad in my life so I'm not sure what to expect at different times. My back is still achey, even though the UTI got ruled out too. . . I'm just so frustrated. Thanks for listening to my vent. *hugs* to all.

Most Crohnies have it hard in the mornings. But are you still on Pred? If so it could be causing some acid reflux in you. You might want to ask your doc for something like Prilosec or Zantac to take to counteract the Pred. Pred always causes me acid reflux like symptoms. Good luck!

Hello Dana,

I have been eating light myself to avoid stomach pains and made the mistake of eating a spicy chicken sandwhich. Shortly after that I had severe lower back pains followed by shooting stomach pains. I went to bed and it kept waiking me up all night. I also knew something was wrong when my bladder started hurting as well from the pressure of my intestines. So to answer your question eating certain foods can cause stomach pain.

Thats what I get for eating such a huge sandwich, but dang was I hungry and an idiot. Back to lean cuisines.

Hey Nanners, would I take it before bedtime to get the most relief? Or just with food in general?

Taking the Pred as early in the morning as possible is best to avoid the insomnia it can cause. If you can eat something with it, that might help too.

But even eating something with it for "me" still gives me acid reflux/gastritis like symptoms.

Sorry you are suffering so!

Hugs

Thanks Gail, it seems like with me lately if it's not one thing it's another :( I started back up on 6MP too and someone said they get reflux from it? I'm just doing half for now and will build up to the whole 50mg soon . . . remicade on Wednesday and I guess go from there. Still, keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I could use some right now.
