I have just finished with week one of the SCD.  So far I am still having a slight urgency in the morning with a loose stool and some sporadic cramping not every day.
I had diarrhea on day 3, maybe because I was frying eggs.  I also felt that maybe the yogurt was not agreeing with me so I stopped that, after dropping a half gallon on the floor, maybe it was a sign.  I just started the yogurt now after a few days.  I am only taking a couple tablespoons, so far so good.
I am wondering if any one has any suggestions about how I can put on some weight.  I am looking very thin.  I also get pretty hungry during the day.
I just started taking Advanced Calcium from FREEDA and D3.
I also cannot find canned tomato juice anywhere.
I am thinking of trying Betaine hcl to see if maybe there's a problem with my stomach acid production that is causing the loose stool in the morning.  It seems like as soon as I wake up things just start moving quickly.  Maybe I'm not digesting the fats and proteins from dinner very well.
Any suggestions much appreciated. :-)

Congratulations on making it one week on SCD! I hope you do well on it.

Did you follow the introductory diet posted here in the link: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/the_intro_diet2.htm It mentions that sometimes there can be bad reactions due to die-off.

Fats are indeed a great source of calories. You could try coconut oil - a couple of tablespoons blended with some Tropicana OJ and frozen berries (as long as it is just berries and nothing else in the package) can be tasty.

It might be too soon for nut flour, but eventually nuts and nut flour are an important source of calories.

You might get some great answers from dedicated SCD groups like the ones in the following link (I tend to favor the Yahoo! BTVC-SCD site: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/support/support.htm

I make a smoothie with 3 tablespoons of SCD yogurt, 1/2 cup of coconut milk, 1/2 avocado, 1 banana, 1 cup of frozen fruit, 1/3 cup of orange juice, 1 teaspoonsful of honey.  We're talking about 700-1000 calories here.  Drink 2-3 times per day, and easily 2100 calories not including the hot dogs, sausages, and fatty meats I'm eating right now.  I've gone from 118 to 134 in a couple weeks.  My goal weight is 145 lbs, and then I'll cut back on the fatty meats and hit the lean ones.

Hi Snowgirl
Congrats on week one. Trust me it does get easier. I find the site that mom recommended to be a great SCD help. In fact I posted a question this morning re canned juice,
If you are talking about tomatoe juice. Cambells in a plastic bottle made from concentrate is legal. So you so not have to buy a can
Take Care

Pentasa (1,500 per day for the last 6 months), Vit D and B complex, fish oil and SCD vit. Entocort (6 mg and hoping to get to 3 next doc visit). SCD since Nov 2010. Amitriptyline for sleeping
Feeling good, almost every day!
