Is dizziness part of this?  Doesn't seem to matter if I am just sitting on the couch or working around the house..........the dizzy spells just come and go.  Anyone else?

Certain medications made me dizzy, which was one of my complaints. I also got dizzy when I had any bleeding especially from my stomach or intestinal lining..Have you started any new medications?

DS used to get dizzy spells (in the period before he was diagnosed) possibly down to being anaemic(?)
The other thought is, what is your weight like, if you are underweight and your body is not absorbing nutrients that could also make you feel dizzy/faint.

Thanks for your thoughts.
My only med for Crohns is Asacol. I take meds for a couple other things, but no new meds for some time now. My weight is stable - hangs in at 25 pounds overweight. I've been craving carbs lately which is never good for my weight or my energy level.
This dizziness is just the darndest thing. Sometimes it hits when I haven't eaten for awhile and other times it hits shortly after I have a good meal.
I'm hoping it is part of something I've already been diagnosed with - sure don't need anything else.

it happens to me sometimes but i think its because i dont drink enough water sometimes. supposed to drink 10 cups a day about and there are days that i only drink 1-3. if you notice that it persists, ask your GI but who knows, with Crohn's anything can happen!

Your iron levels might be low. I used to get dizzy a lot too, especially if I turned my head really fast or bent down to get something and stood back up. I'd almost literally fall over sometimes! Just got my labs back. Iron was a big, bold LOW. Started taking an Iron supplement and it seems to be helping. Also trying to boost my water intake since dehydration can cause it too. Good luck!

Heya,

Yup agree on checking your iron level, it could easily be low and you wouldnt know, but dizziness is a syptom, also get your D checked, really sub-standard d levels can cause dizzines.

I would say drugs, but sounds like you ruled that out, usauly leaves a defieciency of some kind, cant hurt to run some blood tests and at least narrow down the cause.

Thanks Jon

THis has happened to me a few times in the last several month. I could be siting then all of a sudden I feel spaced out and dizzy. Siting isnt enough I have to lay down it is really screy cause I feel so close to losing consciousness it lasted ten minutes the last time. Astarted farting and had a crap and oddly came bakc to life.
I'm becoming less defined, as days go by. Fading away, wellyou might say im losing the focus. Kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

I agree either low Iron or possibly dehydration. I know I have had some dizzy spells of late too. Hugs!

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I had wondered about low D so started supplementing with that. Maybe I need to up the amount. I hadn't thought about the iron tho. Think I'll give that a try.

I think i drink plenty of water - 6-8 glasses a day - but probably more coffee than I need.

Eventually may break down and go to the doctor for labs and to rule out inner ear/vertigo problems.

Sooper - your description fits almost to a T. Except I can't lay down or close my eyes for fear i'll faint completely.
