A few years ago there were many articles on the therapeutic potential of Viagra for Crohn's.

However, there have been no news about it for a couple of years, and I've been unable to find any clinical trials. Does anyone know what happened? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it does seem strange that such a promising avenue of treatment suddenly vanishes "without a reason"...

Ha. If you google it your thread comes up! hehe.

I have taken viagra in the past, not daily or anything so I didnt really notice it helping my guts. Usually if something dies off like this it probably didnt work out as thought
I'm becoming less defined, as days go by. Fading away, wellyou might say im losing the focus. Kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

Well, it's sad there isn't newer infos on that. But again, I'd say, maybe for some it's an unsufficiant immune system, maybe for some others it isn't.
But if it'll be my case I'd like something else than the blue pills.. 8-)

Yes, but usually that's after failed clinical trials or something... Here, there are no traces of clinical trials for Viagra for Crohn's...

They could not get past the warning,,,,,,,,If you have a BM that last longer than four hours please call your doctor .
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

And if you've got a good-looking doctor...

"Did you take Viagra for your Crohn's or are you just happy to see me?"

LOL that is funny! I forget the physiology and exactly how viagra works for ED but I know it relaxes smooth muscle - the reason why you shouldn't take it if you are taking nitrates for chest pain because you can have an unsafe drop in blood pressure.

So if your CD involves a lot of spasms of the bowel, which is smooth muscle, you would think that it might help CD, at least a little. But then so should nitrates for chest pain. That would be the cheaper way to go.
