Hey!
So I've been noticing whenever I go to the washroom there is usually a bit of blood that I pee out and when I wipe it is on the toilet paper. There isnt a lot so I don't know whether or not it's just caused from fissures that I have? Or is it something different? I've never heard of blood in pee when you have crohns and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. I haven't been having too bad of pain lately so Im not thinking its too serious. Of course I do have pain that I usually have with crohns and a little bit of cramping in lower stomach- but nothing unusual. I'm on prednisone and azothriprine .

You can have blood in your urine from a urinary tract infection, and you should get your urine cultured tomorrow to start treating that. If left untreated, you will get a kidney infection. Perhaps part of the cramping you're feeling is really bladder pain?

UTIs can be caused by sexual intercourse (very common esp. in young women). Urinary tract infections can also be linked to Crohn's. If you are having a lot of diarrhea it may be hard to prevent fecal bacteria from contaminating the urethra. UTIs can also be caused by bladder fistulas.

Do not wait until then. Go to your regular doc, or an urgent care clinic, and get your urine cultured for bacteria.

I went to my doctor today (only time I could get in) she doesn't think it's a bladder infection because I have no pain and she also doesn't believe it's kidney stones because of the no pain either. She's thinking it could be breakthrough bleeding from being on birth control so Im suppose to put in a tampon and check to see if there is any blood that still comes out. So I'll try that and see what happens, if there's still blood she says it's something a lot more serious and I'll have to go to another specialist and get lots of tests done. I should get my results back from the urine test on Thursday to Friday to be sure if theres an infection or not. Hoping it's nothing serious!

Glad you went to the DR. Seems like you'd be able to tell if blood was coming from your bladder or your vagina without having to use a tampon?

Yeah, she said it was very common to get them mixed up. I think it was breakthrough bleeding though!

I am having the same issue right now. I have to go to a Urologist to have a cystoscopy done soon. This all started when I started a new med Lialda. I stopped taking the med for now and feel OK with nothing, but of course I started a period a week later go figure!! I guess I'm wondering if it's all connected somehow, but I have no pain except low back pain which is pretty normal for me. And I though this year was going to be better!!!
