Anybody get Remicade infusions every 4 weeks? My doctor is talking about increasing my frequency to every 4 weeks, but that seems like a lot of time stuck in an infusion center to me, especially with a job and family.

I was on every 4 weeks at the highest dosage (10 ml per I think).  Anyway, i also did methorexate injections as well.  for me i felt awful, plus the crohn's was never in full remission. so we stopped for a long time to allow my body to heal.    I have a ful time job, but my infusion center has free internet so i can log in and work as I felt like it.

I did that and it worked for a bit. Then it just stopped working and I had to go on Humira. It has now been a couple years. I do not miss going to those infusion centers that is for sure....

No, he hasn't mentioned increasing the dosage, which I did think of. I will have to ask him about it next time I see him. I am on the smaller side (5'5, 120lb), maybe that's why he doesn't want to increase it?

Mine were every 4 weeks.  I was told dosage was based on your weight.  They didn't even get mine ready until I showed up (partly becasue of the price), but so they could weigh me each time too.  It took not quite two hours for mine including drive time.  I was lucky and able to use my lunch time and just work over the day I got an infusion.  Since it was lunch time I always got lunch through the hospital I got the infusions at.  Oddly enough - it was good hospital food too!

I did every four weeks and then it stopped working, then tried Humira and had a very bad reaction with lasting side effects. Hope it works for you though.

I had it bought into every 5 weeks and dosage increased together with full dose of Imuran but it has stopped working for me now. I am due to start new infuse meds in February.

I wish you well and hope it works out well for you.

Thank you for your replies! I just hope this holds me over for a while. My doctor system there is a promising new med that is in the third phase of trials that he thinks will be good for me. Fingers crossed!

My husband was on 10mg/kg every 4 weeks for almost a year but it really didn't help...
