Thank the Gods that there is FINALLY a scope prep that DOESN'T make me want to puke my brains out.
It's horrible that I stood at the sink for 20 mins cup in hand.....
frozen... with sheer DREAD.
It's about FREAKING TIME they got it right.
Colonoscopy no. 6 is scheduled at 9 in the morning.
Small bowel follow-through scheduled Monday.
Lovely weekend, don't you agree? Lol.
However, after I have these done, I'll be put on long-term therapy.
FINALLY!!!! Been in limbo with this CRAP (ALL pun intended) WWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY to darn long.

So, Wiccan, please share this scope prep with us. Tell us how it went for you, how much prep you had to drink over what period of time, etc.
Crohn's symptoms began mid-1975; Dx'd at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, early 1976; resection of 18" mid-ileum early 1978; 20 year total remission; symptomatic remission 1998 to current.

My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.

I just did the Prepopik prep and hated it. It is a split dose. You drink 5 oz of the prep followed by 5 glasses of any clear liquid over a 5 hour period. Then, depending on the time of your colonoscopy, you do it again around 6-8 hours later. The advantage is you drink such a tiny amount of icky tasting prep. It just didn't work that well for me. I was on clear liquids all day, then started the prep at 6:00 PM. It took me until 3:00 AM until I had my first bowel movement, and I was bloated and in pain until then. I prefer the old preps...even though you need to drink more horrible stuff, it works faster and wasn't as painful for me. My doc says most people love it though...I tend toward constipation, so maybe that's why I had a tough time with it.
Wiccan-chik....good luck with the colonoscopy..I hope you get good results!!

well..... my REVISED comment.....
It DOESN'T taste like you're drinking a block of salt...... however, it doesn't work very well to CLEAN anything out.
After the first round..... I only went to the bathroom FOUR times.
four.
After round number two,..... yeah....... three times. I CERTAINLY hope this kicks in before 8.

i used this recently and I just remember it being a rough experience but now worse than other preps like golytely or the old one fleet's. i was having multiple bowel movements relatively quickly. it tastes like orange soda which was a welcome taste profile after being on SCD for so long

A friend was just telling me the other day how much she preferred the Prepopik prep.

I've only had two colonoscopies- used Golytely for the first and Moviprep for the second, and I MUCH preferred the Moviprep. Splitting the prep into two doses makes it so much better, I think. (The internet suggests that this results in better colon visibility too)

I used Prepopik last month for my colonoscopy and I wasn't happy with it.  It took hours to work and I didn't think it cleaned me out as well as other preps I've taken over the years.

Didnt work well at all. Yeah... it tasted better. but it didnt clean me out at ALL. As a matter of fact i woke up half way through the scope from the darn suction of my gastro trying to just get through it.
NOT good.
I also had another small bowel follow-thru this morning. havent had to do THAT loviness in 16 years. My follow up appt. for these is on 7-30-13, the next thing after these two is an allergy test.
I just want to be FIXED.
