Hello Forum members:

Last 3 weeks I have been dealing with bloating and distension of my abdomen (looks like a balloon) - after meals, and sometimes it starts right in the middle of a meal (Lunch or dinner). I am relatively more settled in the morning or at breakfast, FWIW.

Bloating leads to feeling full, some nausea, eating less than normal >> more nutritional deficits and weight loss - especially bad, when I am trying to regain the 35-40 pounds I lost in the last 2 years. Also, affects my sleep at night. Diarrhea is an ongoing issue - not sure if the SIBO is making things worse. I try to stick to a low FODMAP diet.

Met my GI last week who seemed to think Xifaxin or other Antibiotic 'could help' but not sure how much .. if it is a SIBO issue.

I have heard about this happening due to HCl imbalance or deficit in the digestive juices ... any experience with going that route to fix the bloating.

Please do share your experiences, thoughts and remedies ... will be grateful for your input and some relief!

Thanks, in advance.

I am actually thinking it might be gastroparesis, which is when your stomach empties too slowly. Does it radiate into your back at all? Is it worse when you lay flat on your back? Those would be indications of pancreatitis, which a simple blood test to check lipase and amylase would reveal.
"For this thing I besought the Lord thrice that it depart from me. He said, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities; I take pleasure in infirmities, reproaches, necessities, persecutions, distresses, for when I am weak, then am I strong" 2 Cor
