I am exactly two weeks out from a horseshoe seton placement for an abscess and fistula. I was making pretty good but slow progress and yesterday, for whatever reason, I started experiencing a fair bit of pain and significantly more drainage than usual. Is that unusual? I'm going to see my doc in a week for follow-up and I'm just wondering if I should give them a call or if this is to be expected. I also had a little blood yesterday when I wiped and I think maybe I tugged/caught the seton a little. It's not bleeding now, but it's still painful.

Any thoughts or ideas are, as always, greatly appreciated.
