If you have had allergic reactions to Remicade, have you ever had allergic reactions to any other medications?

I'm trying to decide if I want to go for the Remicade or do 6MP or Imuran.  For those who have done both - which gave you better results?  I've become steroid dependent and am having major joint issues.  When my doctor and I discussed Remicade, 6MP and Imuran, I asked about Humira.  He said that he hadn't used Humira on any of his patients yet.  He didn't seem adverse to it but I'm not sure that I feel so comfortable with using it if he hasn't used it on any other patients.

Thoughts?  Advice?

Currently 3 x per day 1000mgs Pentasa, Aciphex, Lortab, Ambien, Librax (for spasms) & VSL#3 (for probiotics) or activia yogurt, back on the prednisone (10mgs this week) and Entocort (9mgs).

Headed back down the CT, SBFT road for a potential SBO.  Great.

I have only taken remicade. My reactions are basically joint pain, fatigue and headaches. I suppose they are reactions to the remi since I've never had problems with these symptoms before.
The only other meds I have probelms with are flaygyl-I had a neuropathy from a large dose but have taken smaller doses since with no problems and techwin/leviquin. I broke out in hives from techwin and levaquin makes me nauseous.
Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will come along to answer you.  :-)
Good luck with your desicion!

1st Remicade infusion 6/5/07.  Lots of joint pain, and a new fistula since the 2nd infusion 6/19.
Praying I'll get better soon so we can have a baby.

I am on Remicade and Imuran. Imuran almost seems useless to me. I never went into a real remission using it. I've only had 2 Remicade infusions, but I'm still on Prednisone, so it's hard to say with that, as well. I've experienced hair loss with Imuran and fatigue and headaches with Remicade. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you some better news with these drugs! Good luck!

I don't want to have any more fatigue than I already have. I'm wondering if Humira is a better option.
