Lately I have been having the tummy gurgles after not having them for about a month.  I am also feeling my stomach cramp up a little on the right side (exactly where I have the Crohn's).  Is this a bad sign??  I have no stomach pains and I am still with one BM a day. =oP

Noisy is not the word....I was sitting in a deposition a few months ago and of course the room had to be silent enough that you could hear a pin drop. All of a sudden my tummy starts making these noises that I had never heard in my life. It sounded like a construction site in there!! My Husband who was sitting across the table just gave me this face. I did not know I had Crohn's at the time so needless to say I now no longer get "those" faces, he actually thinks it's kinda funny, like my tummy is having it's own conversation with itself!

Well...I always get worried when I hear no noise. That usually means I am blocking up. I think we should get a chorus together and make a gurgling tummy album! We could recreate the classics, make a jazz album, then a holiday special. My husband laughs at the noises too :-)

Habs... I see that you had fistulas and bad reactions to Flagyl. I have one fistula and the flagyl made my toes numb. How did you get rid of the fistulas?

I heard that tummy noises were good, a sign that things are diegesting and moving along....maybe ask your doc and see what he says about it.

I don't want to see any more doctors...I am on a hiatus..everytime I go back it's something worse. The colo-rectal surgeon examined me and re-opened my 2 fissures. The GI wants to put me on Remicade(I don't really think I need it) and my OBGYN just discovered I have pre-cancerous cells in my cervix so I have to see him no matter what every 4 months! I think they are all out to get me! LOL =oP

D...I had a seton placed. Fortunately, my one fistula was perianal and involved limited muscle tissue. As the RN told me "it's the best kind to get if you have to have a fistula". I am considering some of the higher power drugs if I have another fistula, but I liked the relatively non=invasiveness of the seton. I am seeing my gi doc in about 10 days...he wanted me on remicade, but I am declining--he has said that higher doses of imuran without the remicade should help in the perianal disease. I have to find out what his definition of higher dose is. I'll let you know what I hear on that.
Take care as I remember what it was like those first months after diagnosis. Let me know if you want or need to chat!
