So most people have heard that holding fat in your belly although being thin is cause for concern because people who hold fat in their belly end up with more heart etc problems down the road.

Do you have a fat belly or are u a thin person with a round belly that you cant get to disappear? cuz Ive wondered if my Crohns has contributed to the fact that I have GREAT difficulty losing belly fat.  If not..then I guess Im not doing something right but if we all have the same problem...is there any advice on reducing fat in the belly area??

Im always bloated and gassy and round!!!

Diagnosed with severe Crohn's colitis in May 2005. I deal with daily arthritis ALL over my body, cystic acne, & fibromyaglia. Have taken Imuran, Remicade, TPN, Colozal, Entocort, Flagyl, PamineForte, Cipro, Dicyclomine, Prednisone, Asacol, Prevacid, and the list goes on. Taking low amounts of Pred now & 3600mg of Asacol currently...Can't wait till I can get back on Remicade, my miracle drug!

Is it belly fat or bloat? I have a flat tummy but when I am flaring and/or my constipation is particularly bad,or if i have really bad gas problems, I can look 4 months pregnant!I look like a different person some days. That's why I have a closet full of 2 sizes of clothes! God help me. It's expensive. :-)
36 year old female. Dx'd and undx'd a few times. Was just redx'd again 04/2007.
History of rectal abscesses and fistulas (28 surgeries including abscess I & D, exploratory surgeries, 2 C-ton drains and 1 fistula plug) Count does not include self bursting abscesses.
1st Remicade infusion 6/5/07.  Lots of joint pain, and a new fistula since the 2nd infusion 6/19.
Praying I'll get better soon so we can have a baby.

I was diagnosed at 18. Never had any health problems before that. Have always been thin, but I have always had a rounded belly since I could remember. When I am sick its even bigger.

I have had 3 kids and its really not that bad for someone my age, until I get sick of course.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

I have a bloated belly that I can only get rid of on days when I'm in the bathroom several times. If I go a couple days only going once, or not at all I bloat back up. Then I'll have a day that I go like 10 times and my belly's flat. I hate it.

My stomach is usually flat in the morning, then
increases in size as the day goes by.

Since I have been taking Beano with my evening meal, it
has helped keep the evening bloat down.

Do you have gas that you take Beano? Or just to help with the bloating? How much has it actually helped?

For me its just the shape God gave me. Even when I've been really sick and lost tons of weight I had a little round belly. My Mom too. My lowest CD weight was about 90lbs and I had a belly, my Mom's lowest CD weight was 75lbs and she had a belly. When I'm flaring its bigger, and by the end of the day its bigger. But I'm not what the medical community calls the Apply shape, which is where the heart problems come in. I just have a little belly bump. Both my daughters do too. It's just the way we were made.

I have a fat belly but did not get it until I had an abdominal surgery and they made an incision from hip bone to hip bone. Now have a major dun-lop. My belly dun-lops over my belt.
I have noticed that on days with a lot of skitters my belly is flatter than others.

It was gas. I have been so much more comfortable since
I have started taking the Beano, no more bloated belly at night.

It says on the package to take it before every meal,
but I just take it with the evening meal as that
is when the bloat would affect me the most.

I've always been thin, i'm 5'4 and weigh normally between like, 100 and 112 Crohn's depending, but I've always had kind-of a bulge around my belly-button. But, I mean, I don't get anything that resembles excercize, so some kind-of of fat deposit makes sense. I just wish it were somewhere less obviously disproportunate.

Yes even at my thinnest ( 5'6 and 130 lbs) my stomach has always been disproportionate to my body.
