Hi all.  I am now 9 wks preg. and have crohns colitis.  I have been on entocort but had a mc while on it.  now on colozol and rowasa.  Well I am not having any bm's.  Feel totally bloated.  I am taking milk of mag, have taken a dulcolax and have also beun metamucil.  I think I am jsut going to take in fluids for the next couple of days.  Today I tried a suppository and an enema and----  nothing.  I look like I am 4-5 mn preg.  Oh- I am also trying to drink a bunch of water.  Help-- any ideas of what could be going on.

I have had D since I was 19 yrs old, and the only time I had some "normal" BM's was when I was pregnant. It definitely slows down the metabolism. A lot of folks here have had great results with fibre supplements, my grandchild is on metamucil wafers. Many have said that it takes a few weeks for it to become real effective for D and C.

Oh boy do I know exactly how you feel. Like there's a cork in there somewhere? Ugh. What a disgusting feeling.

Try drinking 2-3 glasses of lukewarm water as soon as you wake up in the morning. If you take am meds, perfect timing.

Try eating steamed beets. Beet juice (no pulp, cut it with 1/2 carrot juice, also no pulp) works like a charm for me.

Other than that my GI approves of Magnesium Citrate. You can buy it at the pharmacy in a little bottle and drink it down. But personally I find that having a side of beets with my meals makes everything move very naturally. I encourage you to find something as natural as possible that works otherwise it's gonna be a long pregnancy.

Congratulations, by the way! My baby is almost 2 now and other than the constipation I felt like superwoman my entire pregnancy. Hope it's the same for you!

Hopefully by liquids you meant stuff like Ensure - you need lots of nourishment!

Diagnosed with Crohn's July 2007. I believe it's in the right side of my colon.
Currently taking Entocort 6 mg/day (tapering down), Asacol, Protonix 40mg/day.

On Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) since late July and seeing improvement in "output" quality and hopefully therefore absorption. Taking SCD legal supplements: B vitamins, Folonic Acid 800mg, EnZym Complete DPP IV Aid by Kirkman, and Saccaromyces Boulardii (a probiotic yeast).

Gastritis is back - constant, gnawing hunger. Yech.
