confused  I have always had very loud stomache rumbles- No, it's not the "normal" stomache growling due to hunger.  Does anyone know what this may be a symptom of?

I have them too- I think they're a common side effect of Crohn's. Mine are worse when I'm flaring. They're called "borborygmi"- do a google search and you'll get lots of info!

I also suffer from the Crohn's tummy grumbles.  One time, it was so loud that my stomach woke my husband up from a deep sleep.  He thought someone was breaking in.  So that's when I started drinking Aloe Vera Juice.  Not derived from the same part of the plant that the gel is from.  It tastes pretty gross but if you can drink 1/2 cup - 1 cup then within about 1/2 hour you'll feel a significant improvement and it litterally aleviates all noises.  You'll find that it relieves the gas so be sure to step outside for a little while. tongue    If you find that it works for you and you begin to take it on a regular basis then remember to follow up with probiotics since Aloe Vera Juice tends to work a bit like an antibiotic.. destroying bacteria in it's path.  Replacing your digestive tract with good bacteria (probiotics) maintains proper digestion.  Also,  avoiding yeast and sugar is extremely important.  I havn't completely illiminated all yeast or sugar from my diet but I limit those ingredients to 2-3X a week instead of everyday.  I hope this helps!

Stomach rumbles or abdominal rumbles? Abdominal rumbles can be caused by strictures, like the one my daughter has. Yogurt might not have cured the Crohn's, but it made the rumbles disappear. So we figure it must be doing something good.
