Hi there,

I am supposed to start Remicade this week.  When will I see results?  Is it fast?  I have been sick for 3 months -- hospitalized twice and am just not good.

Thank you
Laurie

After my second infusion [2 weeks after the first one], I had real improvement in my gut symtpoms. Then about a week before the third infusion, my gut symptoms came back. After that third infusion, my gut was great and has basically stayed that way. For the first time in 25 years, I did not have to consider the impact of everything I ate.

Everyone is different, I personally felt terrible the day of my first infusion.  The next day I felt as if I had energy for the first time in months.  With in days the BM's lessened.  After the second infusion, I have done pretty good.

Hi Laura,
It could take up to 3 infusions. I have been doing Remicade for over 2 years and its a wonder drug.
I hope Remicade works good for you like me.

I have had 3 infusions. After my 2nd, I got a new fistula and it has not healed yet- 4 weeks after my 3rd infusion.

I have an appt. with a specialist in NYC because my GI does not think it's working and he doesn't know what else to do with me.

Good luck-I hope you do well on remicade! :-)

I have been taking remicade now for about 2 yrs.   It works great until about the 7th week for me.  that is when i know it is time for another fix.  everybody is different.  i sure do hope it works for you.  A big thing with this disease is FOOD.  have to try things to see if the body can handle them.  The only things i have to watch on my diet now is, Dairy products, beans, and nuts.
