After 8 months, I took my last prednisone pill yesterday!! I have been tapering very slowly from 20 mgs (from a high of 60 mg in February and March) since the end of June, going down 1 mg at at time because every time I tried to taper before, I flared. I had 3 Remicade infusions (induction) which helped a lot but I developed the lupus-like syndrome so my GI is switching me over to Humira in a month, which is when I would have done my next infusion. I understand you can get the Lupus-like syndrome from Humira as well but it is less likely for some reason. Hopefully it will work without any problems. In the meantime I am grateful to be off the pred!
