Well, I can't give you a list or anything but I just found out the hard way that V8 is a huge NO-NO for me. 36 hours of pain and cramping. Bye-bye $3.00, down the drain. BTW, I had just bought some orange juice to take with my vitamins/supplements but am now afraid to even try, I just don't want to go through that again! If you do go ahead and give it a whirl, let me know how you make out with it.

Oh my, about 15 yrs ago I also drank V8 juice and almost landed in the hospital, any normal person would have. I haven't had it since, and I hesitate even on tomato juice. I'm wondering just what does everyone drink, because everything either is carbonated, caffeinated, de-caffeinated, high fructose, sucrose, artificially sweetened, dairy-based or juices that cause D and heartburn. Is there anything good for us? Beside filtered water?

I drink orange juice and apple juice, and lots of other acidic things, without any bad effects, other than heartburn on occasion. That's easily combated with some Tums though.

I can't have anything remotely acidic. .....both lead to extreme nausea, then pain and D. I can tolerate a wee bit of coke in a big glass filled to the top with ice cubes, which doesn't lead much room for the coke. More than one cup of coffe, with milk and sugar is all I can tolerate on a full stomach

I drink my orange juice on an empty stomach and I'm fine. If I try to combine it with anything else it's trouble. I also tend to dilute my juices 50/50 with water. I find that Welch's Grape Juice is tolerated really well. I drink coffee every morning still, but I make it very weak. I find that the strength of things makes a huge difference in how if affects me.

Diagnosed with Crohn's July 2007. I believe it's in the right side of my colon.
Tapered down off Entocort mid August. Now on Asacol 2400, Protonix 40mg/day.

On Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) since late July and seeing improvement in "output" quality and hopefully therefore absorption. Taking SCD legal supplements: B vitamins, Folonic Acid 800mg, EnZym Complete DPP IV Aid by Kirkman, and Saccaromyces Boulardii (a probiotic yeast).

Current biggest complaints: LRQ fullness and slight burning, gastritis symptoms, horrible right hip and low back pain.

I'm fine with tomatoes and V8, and I drink watered, unsweetened apple juice in the morning (better to choak down the Pred), but I've been afraid to try orange juice since my diagnosis.  That probably doesn't make much sense, since I eat canned mandarin orange slices a couple times a week.  But even before I got sick I would occasionally have problems with orange juice.

Haven't tried straight orange juice but the Sunny d blends are pretty good. Also started making my own smoothies. I don't care for sour at all. Here my recipe Frozen peaches and banannas ,apricot juice, plain yogert. milk, ice then blend away. I use to drink nothing but sodas all day, I mean nothing. So this part of my diet has been hard for me. I dropped chocolate like a wiz. Vanilla cookies if i get a craving. Leaving veggies alone are another problem for me, but I still try to figure out what I can safely have. Tried peas yesterday, evidentily its a no go. But I know somewhere out there is a veggie that won't kick my butt. Lots of luck to you. It all trial and errror.

Hi,

I have never been able to drink orange juice without having digestive problems (even diluted this is trouble!). I drink 100% Welch's grape juice diluted 50% with water, and don't have symptoms. I would stay away from orange juice all together. Recently, pineapple juice also diluted 50% with water started giving me major heartburn. But, try the Dole pineapple juice diluted 50% and see if your system can handle it. Drinking mostly water and just a splash of grape juice tricks me into thinking I am not just drinking water. Stay away from any sweetened or sugar drinks.

Diet is very individual for all. I personally have to avoid anything acidic as it upsets my stomach.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 32 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec 60 mg, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and doing tests to see if I have Inflammatory Arthritis or AS.

I realizie that diet is very person-specific. I am just trying to find some things that won't give me heartburn, D, or inflame the crohn's. In other words, I am trying to eat and drink healthier. I have cut way down on sugar, and have been using honey. Almost everything I pick up has some form of sugar in it.

I drink water, herbal tea, MonaVie (a juice made from 19 berries) and an occasional glass of red wine. about once a month, I'll have a small amount of coffee. That's pretty much it. I sure miss my daily cup of strong coffee with milk. Oh yeah, I eat cereal with milk.

Juices like Orange juice can give me D if I drink too much of it. It also almost always messes with my "upper" stomach. So I try to stay away from it, and only drink it on occasion.

I admit I drink a lot of soda. I know not the best thing for me, but sometimes I want a little flavor. Get sick of just drinking water all the time. Soda for some reason doesn't bother me.
