My weirdest hospital stay was in 2001 about 10days after I had major strictureplasty surgery and had been in the hospital for 1 month before that surgery. I went to the ER with fever and chills and was admitted initially due to tacchardia (spelling ?). I was not able to urinate in the ER or have a bowel movement. I was in the hospital for 4 days due and was they said they would not discharge me until I had a bowel movement. I had every type of laxative you can take and nothing. It was not pleasant having the colorectal surgeon come in and try to help things along either in that area. It was from all the pain medicine I believe and my bowel just stopped working there. I ended up getting also an bad IV infiltration on my left hand from Phenegran and I had had surgery later as an outpatient due to my left hand turning black where the IV had been.
