Well I was diagnosed two years ago, put on Entocort for almost 2 years. I went to get a bone density test, through a study at UC Davis. I am only 38. My spine was 1 point away from osteoporosis from the steroids and I do take supplements and lift weights. I am sooo shocked. I have osteopenia in my hip as well but not as bad. I had a -2.4 on the T scale. 2.5 is osteoporosis. The study requires me to inject the meds daily and I am not sure I am up to it. But at least I know now and will get treatment somewhere. I don't really know where to begin right now. My primary told she would like to refer me to an osteo clinic for treatment. It's just so dissapointing, I'm sooo young!

what a shock for you. I am so sorry. they are finding lots of meds for that now, what with all those aging baby boomers. I hope you get help and your numbers get better.
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. In December had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, metamucil, and preparing to begin Humira.

And I only took Entocort EC, I never took prednisone, that's why I am so shocked.  If any of you women have not had that test, go and get one done!  It's soo easy and painless.
