Hi guys, as it says in my signature, I have Bipolar and Chron's. I have to give a 30 min presentation in my Ecological Methodology class in an hour and a half. Naturally, with my medical problems, I feel nauseas and my stomach is THRASHED. I'm afraid I'm going to get the call of nature while I'm up there. I took some xanax, but I don't know how that's really going to help me.

Ahhhh! I'm soooooo nervous!

Please, just someone say good luck!

Thanks,

Jana

BTW, I have a fear of public speaking, and I turn blood red when I'm up there. That only makes it worse because I know people are thinking, "wow, she's really nervous!"

Jana,

I had to get over my fear of public speaking too when I give presentations.  What I found best worked for me was being prepared (as I'm sure you are), opening up with a joke....looking for a kind face in the audience and if I was really scared...picturing everyone sitting and listening to me in their underwear!!!  You'll do fine...just try to relax, we all put our pants on the same way!!! Good Luck and try to have fun.  Peggy

You will do great!! Once you get talking fight or flight should kick in (when you get super nervous) and the digestion should trun off. Worst case scenario you give people a much needed break and say, Ill be right back. If you come back with a water, no one needs to know why you were really gone. Ive had professors leave class before to use the restroom. However, I am sure you will do fine!! I have also learned, people are not judging us as much as we think they are. They are busy worrying about themselves :)
