There are people on this list that have taken 3 or more infusions to see results, but I'm not sure what that says about how long you should keep on trying. Maybe someone will see this post who has been through a long response time.

Six resection surgeries, permanent ostomy, adverse reactions to Remicade finally off of Prednisone, back on 6MP for maintenance, hoping for a long remission from this last surgery.

i was asking this same question two years ago.

First, my personal experience. I didn't improve instantly like some people do. I had a gradual improvement over the course of several months. I was tapering steroids quickly at the same time, which probably prevented more improvement. After three infusions I was around 35% better, but had a complication which ended up in a resection. So maybe if I kept on Remicade it would have kept getting better.

Now for what I have read. Improvement should be noted at the end of 8 weeks (or the three loading infusions). SO you have been on Remicade for 19 days I'm assuming. You still have a long way to go before giving up. Try to relax and keep a postive attitude.

Hi I have had 5 Infusions now and it healed my fistula around the third. Somewhere along the line I stopped having pain too. Hang in there and see how it goes I find it does take a little time for anything to give good results. Best Wishes lol gail
