I went on a road trip and my flare began. I have crohn's colitis and I haven't had to change my diet "yet" since it doesn't cause me massive pain or the runs. I went to my doctor, who gave me pred., and he got me an appointment with my g.i. It had been two months since the symptoms began. I knew my inflamation was in my colon and my bm's were having problems passing through my colon. I didn't have the runny bm's but there was lots of blood and pain around my lower back and the urgency was there when my bm's managed to get through.
My g.i. !!!!! Told me I wasn't flaring and told me to stop the pred.....so I did.
Two weeks later and I went for my scope. Haaaaah I had inflamation all over my colon and he is starting me on remicade as soon as possible.
I told him I was flaring!!! We know our bodies and the doctors somehow seem to forget that. Yahoooo the next step, I guess, is surgery. (remicade first though)
