So are you? I've been reading into this alot recently, for obvious reasons. Here is a Times article http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1672934,00.html
Symptoms Of Crohn's June of '06 (21 years old 285lbs). Colonoscopy in Jan '07 no sign of Crohn's.
Surgery for a Fistula in April '07, diagnosed suggestive Crohn's in May '07. August '07 small bowel follow
through, diagnosed with Crohn's (22 years old 160lbs). On HUMIRA, Prednisone

1st post!

And yes, I'm a bit worried. I just started my Humira treatment this past Tuesday, and I'm a teacher at a middle school in TN. Germs up the wazoo!

I've already gotten it! I have no idea how. Showed up like a pimple on my face and in 2 days it was a golf ball. I went to my primary doc and she was CLUELESS, gave me a shot of the wrong anti-biotics and by the next morning I had a lemon on my face!!! So, I went to the E.R. and 8 weeks of Bactrim later... it was a tiny little purple jellybean on my face. It is still there 7 months later and I wonder if it will ever go away. I have a hard lump there. To add insult to injury, just as I was finishing up the 8 week course of meds, I got a 2nd infection - on my other cheek!!! I guess the universe is teaching me not to be vain??? Since I caught that one early, I went directly to an Infectious Disease Specialist - just the name makes me cringe. He was able to treat me and it healed right up and left no remaining scar/lump/etc.

Then my daughter got a rash on her bum that wouldn't clear up - guess what - it was staph. Then my infant son got a "pimple" in his diaper area....staph. What the heck???? I'm so worried we will never rid ourselves of this dreadful infection. I can't afford to have it attack me. The specialist said it's not a "cleanliness" thing - I'm still washing the heck out of EVERYTHING all the time. I'm so scared that I might get to the point where the meds don't work!!!!!!

Yeah Ive developed a bump on my lower left cheek if you know what I mean. It's been there for about 2 weeks has not gotten bigger or smaler just there. Im hoping it's a pimple but with crohn's who knows.

Spifficial- welcome to the board, hope Humira works for you like it has for me, Trust me I know about germs, I work in retail. Gotta get my flu shot soon.
