OK I have tried to get this reply in twice! I would watch your fat intake too. I have found that when I go VERY low on fat ingestion, my hair loss increases. I usually reduce fats a lot when I am not feeling well and many days of low fat have shown more hair in the shower. I am guessing that with meds induced hair loss, the fat intake may not be as strong an issue, but anything helps :-)
Dx'd '90 (emergency rupture), symptoms ignored long before that, '03 fistulas and bad flagyl reactions, B12 weekly, Pentasa [until I surrender to the bigger meds]

Have you tried taking Biotin? I know some folks use the Folic Acid along with the Biotin and have some success with that. I can't tolerate either of them so the MTX is out for me at this point. My Rheumy wanted me to try it without the Folic Acid, but the hair loss concerns me too much. Good Luck!

Hi,I am no longer on methotrexate but when I was I noticed that my hair was coming out so my GI put me on Folic Acid and told me to take fish oile like omega 3 and about three months on Folic Acid and the Omega 3 my hair stoped coming out.So you might want to add the Omega 3 and see if that helps you.
