This is normal according to, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a601102.html#side-effects,

"Prednisone may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
- irregular or absent menstrual periods"

So it looks like you get a break when your on pred. I'd tell your doctor tho.
How long overdue are you for one?

How sick have you been?  Sometimes our bodies shut down non-essential stuff, like our periods, when we're really sick.  My period has been goofy ever since I was diagnosed this June.  I'd mention it to the doctor, but they'll probably tell you it's all the stress your body has been under.

Np :) I'd talk to your GI doc, ask him/her how long is too long.
I can't say i've had that side effect on pred cause i'm a male, maybe some of the ladies can give some advice on that in the meantime ;)

Was only in hospital for 8 days, then not had any symptoms at all since I came home. Still on pred (tapering) and pentasa.

My period completely stopped the two times last year I was on it.  I'm not sure if it was the pred or menopause.  My monthly visit came back when I was completely off it but only every other month.  I'm at the age to be starting whacky cycles though.

I'm having the opposite reaction, my won't stop. I just started the pred again, so i'm assuming that's the cause. My OBGYN says it could be the stress of being back in the hospital. She told me no worries, sometimes it takes three cycles or so to get it back on track. So, I'm waiting one more week (been "on" for two so far) and then making an appointment to make sure everything is ok. :) Hooray for Prednisone!!
Diagnosed CD in Dec 06'
Currently on: Humira, 30 MG Prednisone (decreasing since starting Humira), Yasmin (9 week intervals), multivitamin, calcium +D & magnesium

I was in the hospotal for 9 days and was put on 60mg of Prednisone. I missed the period that was due about a week after I got out. As soon as I tapered below 40mg it came back on a regular basis. From experience, be prepared becuase you may not be able to know exactly when it will come back :)
