Sorry I didn't answer last night...was going cross eyed cleaning closets with my 15mg of pred which I had increased the dose yesterday morning.  I eat yogurt every single morning.  I love yogurt smoothies in place of the milk shakes.  I have been on the imuran 3 months after dx in Jan '06. The GI wanted me on it as soon as possible as it takes 4 months to get into your system well.  I was in such bad shape at dx that my kidneys were not filtering the drugs properly prior to the resect.  I ended up have to wear a nephrostomy/urine bag 2 months prior to surgery because one my ureters was almost completely blocked.  When they finally opened me up in July '06 to remove a 4.5 CD cyst on my ovary...they found my whole pelvic floor was full of pus.  If that wasn't enough, they removed the part of the intestine, my appendix and I had a lovely staff infection on top of that!  The GI then had me start the remicade 4 weeks after surgery on the premise that the imuran helps the remicade work better.  All was "decent" for about a year until I started building antibodies to the remicade.  She then started me on the humira about 10-12 weeks ago and I continue to take the imuran.  Remember, I can not take the usual dosage of the imuran due to my personal genetic makeup.  I have to alternate between 50mg & 100mg every other day or I become toxic.  Most CDers can take up to 150mg of the imuran.  So here I am, one surgery down, entecort/pentasa won't do for me and playing constantly with the pred dosage.  I still don't know what remission means and have never gone below 15mg of pred before getting symptomatic.  Interesting enough...I just read a post here that the pred can interfere with your periods too.  Hmmmm...I was hoping I was just done with that since I haven't had one of those weeks since Aug.  Rats...those weeks are the worse!  So there you have my story and I'll be going coon hunting with you in the morning...I wonder if "we" could actually eat them?  Gross! But right now since nothing stayin' in..and I'm starving...I would be game..how 'bout you!

Sure thing on the hunting coons just get them out of my bird feeder will yah. I have to bring my bird feed in at night . Wow you sure have had some meddy problems there. Get this I did not have pnuemonia just got back from GP and he got my results from radiolgolist and noooo pne. Well I have a big decrease in lung function. So telling me to quit smoking. My glucose is not very high although he is going to keep an eye on it. Last night to emerg. V,D and pain, back two in the morning. Wow been a busy month. Hoping things will get mellowed out here so I can have a rest. The brain has been punished lately as well as the pooper shooter. I am on 20 mgs of pred. and not cross sited yet. Thanks for the caring and help. You know halloween is coming around the bend any plans? lol gail

As my dog says...squirrels are NOT just for breakfast anymore! I'll send him over to help with the coons, but they can be feisty little critters! Wow, no pneumonia! That's great news! But how is it they saw fluid and now all of a sudden there is none and they are blaming the big decrease on smoking? I'm so confused. Not just for you but myself as well! What did they say was the cause of the vomiting, D & pain?

Well I increased the pred to 15mg 3 days ago and my D is worse. 5 times today. I know that seems small potatoes to some here but this is an all of a sudden flare out of nowhere! I guess I'll try 20mg for the next three days with a liquid/mush diet and see what happens. If no improvement, I'll call and whine to the GI, like that's going to do any good, cause it's impossible to see her under a month's time because she's one of the best in our area. Not to mention the pred's side effect according to NIH can cause me not to have periods. Not that I miss them and the more complicated week of CD. It's just, is it the pred or have I reached menopause? End result is the same for my bones.

As for halloween....I'm thinking of flying into that tree, feel like I'm already hanging out there anyway!
Hope you got some rest today and try and keep some fluid down. As to the smoking..I can't preach...going to the store now to pick up a pack of the stupid things myself.

I wish the wind would blow me somewhere....I could stand to get out of town for awhile. I wish I could afford to buy an RV (built in shower/toilet) you know. This flare has sent me running to the house 3 times in 2 days. Had to leave the pooch in the car which I parked at the front door cause I couldn't make it from the driveway today. He's such a sport, laid down in the back seat, lookin' at me like where else we goin' after I came out of the house 15 min. later! I keep threatening my "adult" kids that we are going to sell the house and buy the RV just so they can't move back home, AGAIN!
