I have been up since 2am with no relief, I've take tons of Tylenol, applied heat, taken a hot bath, massaged, sweet talked, and pretty much everything short of serenading and buying my joints dinner.. When the pain starts it refuses to subside until my whole day has been shot by sitting on the couch and I'm just wiped out from all the pain and crying.
I know that a lot of other's here deal with the same pains.. my pains are mostly are in my knees but I've also had them in all my other major joints.. just not as bad. I've called my GI to see if there's anything that they might suggest. I know that it's the steroids that are causing these probems.. is there anything that anyone can suggest until I hear back from my GI? I'm miserable. sad

Please think about seeing a rheumatologist (sp?) mine diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and it was a lifesaver because I was miserable like you. I still have some pain due to arthritis but I am much better since seeing my Rheumy. you might have something else going on. I rarely slept because I was hurting so much and now I get the best sleep (partly due to a muscle relaxer :-) )

I have always been told Tylenol, hot baths, massage etc... are good for joint pain.  I can't think of anything else you can do right now.. Maybe some other Chronies can think of something?

good luck!

Thanks!
I forgot to add that if my pharmacy ever gets their stinking act together, I'll be on Humira soon.. do you guys think that should help my joint pain since it's intended for arthritis any how??

I usually just have to take my pain medication, I know it don't help much but it does all it can. Mine got so bad that my doc started me on Remicade and thats the only thing the medicine has helped me with so far. Hope you get some relief soon and take care~!
