I've had Crohn's since age 14. I've had about 4 flares.

For the past 5 weeks, I've had on/off abdominal pain, constipation, and fatigue. I've also had some lower back pain. The pains usually occur in the evening and all night.

I have days when I feel better than others. Is this normal for a flare? Even on the good days, I am always very tender and sore around my navel area and lower right quadrant. Is it expected that I will always have discomfort there or should the medicine be treating that? I'm on Imuran now, and I'm getting scoped next week. The GI said he'll probably switch me to Humira if he finds anything.

I guess I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Sounds to me like you a very conscientious GI that listened to your complaints. I think it's good that he ordered the scope because the problems and symptoms you described here sounds like disease activity to me. When one is in remission, there should not be abdominal pain, tenderness or soreness. I hope your GI can find the source of your discomfort. Let us know, ok?

Hi I agree with Ides you should not always have to live with pain and discomfort there.Keep a check on your B-12 levels too .Hoping the Imuran works for you I eat well cooked veggies specially carrots to try to keep things moving. What did he say about the constipation I would think inflamation would cause some constipation. I had that belly button area that was bothering me alot on the right side when I had the abcess it would bulge up .I could see it ,but I had lots of moving around where I could see it moving in a big lump. lol gail
