Hello all

I am writing this from the ER
Here is the situation
15 year Crohns patient
Had a resection 2 years ago,
other than some partial obstructions all has been good
A few weeks ago I started getting tired, a little short of breath
Thought it was allergies
3 days ago, I went to the doctor GP, and he prescribed Prednisone for seasonal allergy symptoms
Yesterday, I just felt like this was not allergies, but more so anemia related
Woke up at midnight to use the bathroom, I felt a bout of Diarrea coming on,
Looked in the toilet and there was blood (looked like a considerable amount)
Maroonish color, definately red tint on the toilet paper.
Absolutely no stomach pain

Also felt very weak, pounding chest, racing heartbeat, lightheaded walking up the steps,
I am hoping the blood in the stool is hemaroid related (I get colonoscpies done yearly CT's done every 3 months- ususally when I get obstruction issues)
But this came out of the blue.

Anybody go through this, or have any comments in general?
I am very concerned about my hemoglobin (9), and hematocrit (23%)
Everything else is showing fine,
good electrolites
Good red and white counts

I appreciate any help or insight anybody can give

Thanks

So,
They are about to give me a unit of blood
then off to the GI suite for an upper GI series (They think it may be a bleeding stomach ulcer?)
I think they are grabbing at straws,
The did a mini prep with a fleet enema just in case they need to peek down below

I will let you all know how thi proceeds
