:-)  hey.i was told once that when you are on don't absorb vitamins..seeing i am enemic i need my vitamins.i take iron and a prenatal(no not preganant but it has all the vitamins i need) but what else can i take to absorb or is it even true does the pred stop absorbtion of vitamins??thanks evreyone for always being supportive
 i am feeling great on the hunira its been a month and i feel awesome my doc wants me to go see a special wean me off the pred but i am scared the humira won't work :-)

When I am on pred., my dr. always has me take a calcium with a vitamin d and folic acid.

Take all the calcium and Vitamin D you can stomach.  I got osteoporosis from 1.5 years of Entocort and I hear prednisone is way worse at causing bone loss.

Yes being on pred can do this, but also having IBD makes it much more difficult to absorb vitamins and nutrients properly as well.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)

once when i was on prednisone,i had and IV infusion of iron.i think by having it go directly into the bloodstream,it can be absorbed might want to ask your doctor about that.
