My Dr refused to put me on an appetite suppressant because of my Crohn's. I struggle terribly with my weight and since my resection in August '06 and diagnosis of steroid-induced diabetes I really worked hard to lose excess weight. Nothing worked. Started to get really depressed about
it. For years I had no energy to do anything. Meals consisted of fast food because I had no desire to cook. Now after my resection I had energy. Joined the Y, started fixing dinner, ate healthy and still couldn't lose weight.
My doctor put me on Cymbalta to help with the depression and it has the fringe benefits of helping with Crohn's related pains. It worked tremendously. I realized I wasn't losing weight because I was still trying to adjust to the lower weight after my surgery. I wasn't losing new weight but was working my body to maintain the lower weight. Hard to explain. I was starting to lose back in the summer but fatigue has started to set back in and I haven't lost anything in about
I've lost a total of 60lbs and have about
another 40 I want to lose.
