I'm in a flare now. Most of my pain comes on at night. I do have some days when I feel just fine and experience just tenderness/soreness in my abdomen. Other days are awful with fatigue and pain.

Are any of you like this? Do you have good days and bad days too? I get so annoyed because I psych myself up to think I'm getting better and a couple of days later, I'm sick again.

When i'm good, i'm good for a few weeks and bam i'm like crap for a day usually, but when i'm good, I still have slight soreness on my right side even on the meds. It's great isn't it? I just take each day as it comes and try and live with it.

Thank you all so much for your comments.

It's mentally exhausting because I get hopeful that maybe I'm better and then I have a bad day. After awhile, after many visits to the GI and after several tests, I start to second guess that I was hurting to begin with. There have been several occasions over the past few months where I was sick for a week straight, made the appointment with my GI, but was feeling ok by the time I was able to see him in person. So, I cancel the appointment, but go through it again months later.

I'm not letting it go this time! I know something's not quite right.

this is the exact question i never really understood or got anwsered.  A little background:  in august i had about 2 weeks of straight diaherra, pain etc.  I didn't see the GI until September and in the beginning of October i had my colonscopy.  At the time of that colonscopy, the GI found the inflamation, ulcers etc. and thru biospies they said i had crohn's.  But when that was done i had no symptoms.  Now down the road about a year later i had my second one done.  At that time i had severe diaherra, pain etc.  nothing showed up.  My doctor said that your symptoms don't necessarily indicate a flare up.  and that i must have ibs as well.  Now when i feel bad i never know when i am truly in a flare and i'm not running to get another colonscopy done again.  I think the best bet is to treat the symptoms.  There may have been diease higher up who knows.  but my whole crohn's experience has always been that way.  Sick a little while, fine some days.  Who knows it's all confusing.

That is me too. Supposedly I'm in clinical remission. My doctor say I have IBS also but I don't think that explains the fatigue and fevers I get every once in a while. Some days I feel good and then I'll hardly have the energy to roll out of bed to get to the bathroom. It's frustrating because it makes it hard to make plans more than a few days out.

Officially I'm UC (sometimes it's been indeterminite colitis though), but I want to chime in that much the same is the case with me. As far as good days go, or stretches of good days, I find I normally transition slowly from bad to good, very gradually, when I am lucky enouhg to do so at all, but that a bad day can come up on me just like that.

Most typically I worsen in terms of pain, during the night in my sleep (usually waking me up due to pain). In general I suffer more pain at night and on wakeup, and my best times tend to be just before bed. This might be partly due to taking pred (when I do take it) mostly in the a.m., but even in those stretches of being pred-free I have noticed the worst pain in late morning and on 'wake-up' (again, if in alot of pain I have usually been up alot during the night).
Pancolitis dx'd 1986, full med-free remission 88-97
Flaring or simmering ever since

I am on pentasa, very little actual gut pain now, relatively normal (sort of, nothing I can't handle) bowel function. Some days I feel "ok", other days I feel like death warmed over (like today) For a few days the tendonitis in my feet isn't too bad, yesterday and today it has been terrible. Someone on this forum once said that she can feel fine and one hour later feel awful. that's exactly how it is. Then one hour later feel ok again.
