I could have clear liquids up to 4 hours before the test. If you have time, maybe drink some chicken broth. It might give you enough nutrients to take the medicine. I am one person who has to eat every couple of hours or I get really nauseous. I had an endoscopy about 3 weeks ago and thats what I did about 4 hours before the test and it really helped. I take 1/2 percoset about 3 times a day. I told the nurses before the endoscopy about this so that they would know I use them and said I usually need a little more meds during tests because I use this med. Be sure to let the nurse or doc know before your procedure about the meds you have taken today. Good luck.
