Hi My bottom has been getting sore at times so being a nurse at one time decided to go the corn starch route and it is the most wonderful soft feeling ever. Not to mention that it is a nice drying feeling. I used to use it alot for friction areas on patients and now my bottie needs it. So give it a try and enjoy the luxary. lol gail

I have never hear of this remedy. Do you just put straight corn starch on your skin?

CD since 1988,

Cocktail of medications ( Remicade included) and have explored many herbal remedies.

Currently experiencing another flair up after 4 years of remission.

I gently rub extra virgine olive oil on my butt since it has antibacterial, antifungal and antibiotic properties...I actually use it head to toe, from my hair to my toenail and it makes everything very soft.

I don't have surgery there but if chaffed, I just pat a little on with toilet paper after wapping , out of cotton balls so will have to get some . I really liked the soft dry feeling .lol gail

Along that same line, I fell for the Burt's Bees, Baby bee Dustin Powder (talc free) Has corn starch, sodium bicarb, kaolin, rosebuds, myrrh, and slippery elm bark. It does has some fragrance, but I fell for it for most my powder needs...since the bad CD flare had to explore the baby isle, including the foods...some great finds. Got this at Target. Just my 2 cents...

So how do you use the corn starch exactly is it an oil, or a powder. I've just had surgery and find I'm having my botom leak. They cut my sphincter even tho I didn't want them too. So now I hav a problem where I leak all time. Can anyone help?

Its a powder. We caught up with friends at a dog show one year they were putting it on the beards of their Old English Sheepdogs to help keep their chins dry and white.

Sorry to hear your having problems after your surgery, I can only suggest wearing panty liners, and maybe try some corn starch like Gail suggests.
take care,
Tess

Hi Wooky I am sure if your leaking you probably are getting sore at times some people use gauze sponges to catch the leaking ,you could ask your DR. if you could put some corn starch powder on the sponge. As far as leaking perhaps it will get better as you recuperate .What did the Dr. say about the leaking will it improve? lol gail

Cornstarch here too! I love it. Use a hard milled organic olive oil soap (castile) everywhere else but the butt, underarms & face. In the stinky areas I make sure to use antibactierial soap. No...my face doesn't stink....that's to help keep the acne down along with witch hazel as an astringent. What else would you expect me to do with the warts?

Be carefull of the little puff of powder when you pass gas.
