I know bunny pucker just posted something similar to this but I'm going to ask something a little diff.

I have not gone since last FRIDAY! Sunday I took Milk of Magnesia, I'm taking 2 docusates a day since sunday, am taking metamucil, am drinking lots of H2O and yesterday I added Miraliax and another dose of MOM to the mix. NADA. A pebble maybe and that was it. I was on 2 rounds of antibiotics and I think it annihaled all the poor troops. I am also have been taking my probiotics and eating youghurt this whole time.

Talked to the pharmacist yesterday and he said to do an enema. My friend that is a nurse that I work with said NO you need to evacuate your whole gut. Take 2 doses of MOM.

Emailed the GI doc and he wants me to drink that NASTY go lightly. I really don't feel like projectile vomiting again for 7 hours but I will do it if I have to. I just don't want to resort to that EVERY time this happens. I think another problem is that the ASACOL is what is stopping me up. catch 22 you take a med to keep you from having D and now you have C.

What have you guys done when it seems nothing works? Someone non medical told me to eat the forbidden foods ie fatty, fresh fruits and veggies and caffeine and see if that triggers something but I'm scared because I haven't touched that stuff since I was hospitalized and I'm afraid that instead of making me poop it'll just make me in more pain. Pisses me off because my doc told me last Wed that I was in "remission" because all my blood tests came up negative. All my other symptoms are the same, pain, nausea, fatigue, whatever. This "Remission" doesn't feel much different than when you are sick. I think he lied

Your thoughts............................. and thank you.......................

Sorry, I don't have any tips. I wouldn't recommend the veggies or anything like that. You don't sound like you are blocked, but don't push it.

Hopefully someone will come along soon with better answers.
Currently in remission!

SUCCESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

at 07:55pm pst I had a bm bigger than a pebble and since then 4 more that were more like D but what the heck I'll take it any way it comes as long as it is OUT. I am glad that I didn't go to McDonald's and get a filet o fish with french fries. I was desperate but I guess I still had SOME common sense left in me. LOL.

What did it....

2 doses of Milk of magnesia taken 10 hours apart
2 doses of miralax taken 10 hours apart
and tons of 16 oz glasses of H2O

whew. <dancing the happie dance> and now I can say that I have a plan B when this happens again.....

Hurray for you malakai,
Reminds me of the time when I'd had a partial obstruction around xmas time. Kept messaging my belly, drinking lots of warm water, had nothing to eat but boost. New Years Eve at the stroke of midnight I'm yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR! I POOPED ! to the entire household. Wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors didn't hear it as well. It's such a relief to finally have a "break-through" like that when nothing seems to have worked. You feel like calling in the town for a party!.
Good for you!
