I wanted  some info for a friend.  After a few months of bad diarrhea  ( did get better at one time but "flared) her Gi did a scope.  ( good call!)  After the scope, he told her she looked" like she had colitis and had taken biopsies to be sure.  they just came back and were negative and she was told that  it wasn't.  Can you just have an inflammation of the colon without it being UC?  I was told once that a "colitis' was just an inflammation and that can be caused by  a number of things.. and can go away with time and some other meds.  She is assuming that this is  IBS ( which is what he thought anyway!)

I don't think there's any inflammation with IBS.

If its crohn's colitis he may have hit the wrong spot for the biopsies.

Thant's what I told her. I know her GI and he is a really good doc.. very thorough. Hopefully he can find some meds to help decrease the symptoms. IBS stuff is sooo similar to Cd at times... guess having either one sucks! Prof
