You should be fine taking birth control. It actually might help you feel better during that time of the month. If you're apprehensive about
the effects of systemic hormones, like in the form of an actual birth control pill, you can ask about
the NuvaRing, which is a thin, flexible plastic ring that exerts a more localized effect. You put it in yourself (just push it up there, very easy) and leave it there for 3 weeks. It just fits around your cervix. Then you take it out for a week and have your period, then put a new one in. Easy breezy.
