When you guys have that full of gas/bloat feeling (i mean up to your chest full) do you feel like your insides are bruised?  Sometimes i get it so bad that any movement at all kills.  I feel like the walls of my insides are bruised.  It feels trapped too and takes forever to go away.  Ahh, why is this?  It literally makes my stomach stick out a few inches and get super rounded.

What meds are you on? I don't have it all the time, but I do hate the gas and bloating. Sometimes I get it in my back and it takes hours to go away!

Well the one im attributing it to is flagyl since that is what i just started yesterday(500mgx3) and the gas has just started. I am also on 125mg 6mp and cortifoam.

I'm actually going through that right now myself.  My husband and I jokingly call it my "pregnant belly".  My stomach is obviously distended, and hurts from the pressure.  My GI suggested OTC gas pills, which help sometimes, othertimes not.  Otherwise I typically hang out with my heating pad and curl into a ball.   Hope it gets better for you soon.

Hi jusdebbie, it sounds like you could be having an allergic reaction to the flagyl. I would call your doctor
and let your doctor now you symtoms.

oh my goodness i thought no one else had this problem!!!  my husband calls it my pregnant belly too!!!!  it's aweful, and your description is exactly how it feels!  sometimes my distension is so pronounced that it makes it hard for me to breathe, and actually makes me walk a little hunched over!  and after it finally goes away i feel like i have done a pilates abs workout- all the muscles in my stomach and lower back are so sore- like i pulled them all- i have gone to the er actually many times for this- they never seem to know what it is- always the same thing- NG tube to relieve the pressuse and iv fluids because i'm constantly dehydrated!!!!  i can't tell you what this means to hear someone else has this- i've started to think that i was losing it! tongue

I felt exactly like this when I had my first really big flare in early September. Very bloated and "bruised" -- hurt to walk, move or be touched. I ended up in the hospital for 8 days. Since then, have had certain days of bloating, but never as bad again. My GI suggested Gas X, too.

When I flare, I usually have a few days of consistent pain, fever, and nausea followed by a few days of intense soreness. I feel like I'm bruised on the inside. I hate it. It hurts to stand up straight, and I have a hard time picking things up.

That "bruised inside" feeling feels to me like I swallowed a prickly hairbrush, and it's working its way through my intestines!

Have had the exact same symptoms...took silver from local vitamin world, it stopped in just a few min. I suffered for two days trying every OTC I could for gas, even took charcoal which usually works for food poison or reflux but nothing seemed to help. When I took the silver at the third flare up...it went away for good.
