Hi ! .. I recently posted that the Pred is giving me insomnia. I am just amazed at the never ending energy that I have had the last 4 days.. its 11:23 pm and I feel like I just woke up and have a whole day in front of me.. haha.. I just thought I would post and see if anyone else is on this same prednisone energy high at the moment.. ?  My house has never showed better than now with all this xtra time and energy :)

Yup, also WIDE AWAKE from the prednisone right now at almost midnight! The thing is, I'm soooo tired but wired at the same time that I can't sleep. All I want to do is curl up in bed and pass out...:0( Although I did get tons of things done last night, seeing I was up until 4:30 am!

well our barn could do with a coat of paint after you've all whizzed through your household chores.

I'm joining your club. It's 3:30 a.m. where I live and here I am on the web. Fell asleep at 10, but up at 2:00.

I posted a few months ago ("Something I love about Prednisone") about the one "good" side effect of Pred being that I was actually able to wake up without my alarm for the first time in my life! My kids noticed that we were more caught up on laundry because i was getting entire washes done and folded before I even left for work.

I'm tapering and just went to 10 mg/day so I'm hoping the insomnia will start going away soon. Wishing everyone good sleep,

J

A coat of paint on the barn hu ? We could probably tag team that tongiht and have it done in an hour, the way I have been feeling. I have been on pred before and never experienced this.  I suppose now that I am trying to enjoy the extra hours this is the only good side effect I ever felt from Pred.. If I am on 60 mg and this can last till I taper down, holy cow my routine is going to be so messed up ! Its 9:40am, i had about 4 hours of sleep last night and boy do I feel refreshed ! Have a good day everyone.. We can plan on meeting at midnight to get that barn done !

It sounds like some of you are enjoying this second wind of Prednisone...I have a simple remedy and its called Melotnin...You can find it at any drug store for about $5. They come in 3mg and 5mg and are a tiny supplemnet that is naturally produced in your spine to help you go to sleep at night. I have been taking this for about 8 months now. There are no side effects at all! and It should help you get a full restfull night sleep without any drowziness upon waking. Feel free to look it up on the web...the one thing I found that was amazing was the wealth of positive effects besides good sleep that it has like antioxidants etc etc and its good for you skin!

At the end of the day its just a vitamin that helps you sleep well. Im sure if you try it you will be able to get in a few extra hours of sleep and ward off the insomnia that the pred is giving you...if that doesnt work as your doctor for xanax. That will do the trick...Take is around 6 in the evening and by the time you hit the sack between 9:30 and 10:30 you will be right as rain!

Hi folks, just read the posts about "being awake". Thought it was just me!! I'll help paint the barn if you all will bring the hammers and help me build a workshop. It won't bother the hubby, far enough from the house , beside, he doesn't hear a thing when he sleeps!!! Then, just as I thought I had it figured out, we get the name of a vitamin to put us to sleep!! hahah   Thank you for that post, I am going to check it out. I am just soooo tired and wired and tired of being wired!!  I needed the energy, but would rather it be in smaller dosess!!  See ya all,  granna
