ok. it's official. starting on 6mp tomorrow. i am scared, nervous, excited ... hopeful ...trying to keep positive and not focus on the weekly blood work and the side effects. it's hard on days when you are in pain and don't feel good and think to yourself "3 months? 3 MONTHS?! i can't wait 3 months".

ok ok ok. i can do this. i have been doing it thus far! perseverance!

i also got a flu shot on monday. first time i ever got one but i suppose, that was a good idea on my pcp's part :)

hope everyone is feeling well!

Hey DustSpeck...Here is the scene from the movie Xmen that I was talking about in the other thread...the line is not until like 5 minutes and 30 seconds or something...but when you put it in the context of how this disease really trys to destroy us its a powerful statement...

Congrats, Stephanie! As I was joking to Doc the other day, "Welcome to the First Class" tier.

I hope it works for you, and brings a peaceful remission. Just remember, there are other meds out there to combat some of the side effects if they get too bad for you.

Hi Stephanie,

I'm glad you're "cleared" and still think it's odd that my GI just plunged me into it and waited for the blood test results for later while yours made you wait for the TMPT (sp?) first. Not sure whether my GI was taking a risk, or yours is overly cautious! Either way, I'm glad you're good to go.

So, I've been on 6 mp for about three weeks now. Too early for any effect. The first 2 weeks had quite a bit of dizziness and vertigo. I actually cancelled a business trip because I just wasn't feeling good. Missed several days of work and worried that I couldn't deal with the medication. Symptoms are gone now, so don't know if it was the 6 mp or something else viral going on. I still take just 50 mg -- at night.

Best of luck!

doc - now i feel like i have to rent the whole movie! but that is a powerful statement in regards to dealing with this disease and i will try and keep that in mind. thank you :)

sway - woo hoo first class! pass the champagne! ;) i heard a lot of people take it at night cause of the nausea? i seem to be starting off on a low dose, he wants to see how i do on 25mgs.

thenay - thank you so much! i do toooooo! and hope you are well :)

glowmoment - that is peculiar about our dr's putting is on with and without the tpmt (i forget and i just looked at the paperwork!) tests. wonder what other people have had done now ....hmmm. i think i am going to take mine at night as well after hearing about your problem with vertigo and other people saying it makes them nauseous. i've had quite enough of that today, thank you! and THANK YOU for the reply!
